About Us
WHERE BOOKS COME TO LIFE
This online gallery came from the fevered imagination of Frances Day, an artist’s book maker and member of Stroud Artists Books, The Bookband and the Society of Bookbinders Artists Books Group
Having participated in endless discussions within these groups concerning the difficulty of exhibiting books in a conventional gallery, where they cannot be opened or handled, she decided to create this space so that each book can be displayed and described by the individual artist
In due course, it is hoped that this will grow into a substantial online resource for artists and their books

Our Mission
I hope this gallery will eventually be a repository of some of the extraordinary work of book artists everywhere but it is an important part of our aim to promote the art-form in the UK, where it is under-appreciated and little known.
Our aims
Providing a means for visitors to see artists books in action
Each book is exhibited in a video, presented by the artist, in which they display and handle the book whilst explaining their inspiration, methods and materials.
Giving artists a platform
Each artist has a page in the gallery where they introduce themselves and their practice, with links to the books made by them in the gallery
Providing a sales platform
Most books in the gallery are offered for sale. Fevered Imagination is not-for-profit, but we do take a 15% commission on sales to cover costs. We do not handle the physical books: they are distributed by the artist when a sale is made.
Promoting book arts
The gallery encourages visitors to browse the books, and to use the resource for understanding more about the wide range of artists’ books and what can be created under that umbrella term.
Artist Services
We offer each artist a page on the Fevered Imagination website where they can provide details about themselves and their working practice, with links to all artists’ books they are exhibiting in the gallery. There is no charge to exhibit in the gallery, but we do levy a 15% commission on sales to cover costs.
Buyers
If you are interested in buying work from the gallery, you can do so on the site using any usual online payment method. All prices are clearly displayed, and we also add an amount for postage, packing and insurance to ensure that books reach you safely.
The artist will send the book to you directly. If the book should arrive damaged or otherwise unacceptable, we provide a two week return period with full refund available.
