Gathered Gatherings
A one-off handmade book with an online printed A6 limited edition. The handmade book is a traditional hardback book made for the theme Gather and exploring the things we collect and hold onto that are both worthless and priceless. The core theme of the book is one that recurs in my work, where mundane collections of fairly incidental items become imbued with intrinsic meaning and carry signifiers for memories of close family members no longer alive. The challenge is to explore personal issues of identity and lineage without slipping into mawkish nostalgia or sentimentality.
